"The Hurt Locker" leads the field at the Oscars with three gongs as the cermony continues, with James Cameron's "Avatar" so far picking up two awards.
Paul N.J. Ottosson and Ray Beckett won two Oscars for Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing in "The Hurt Locker" at the 82nd Academy Awards in Hollywood.
It was the third award so far for the film about elite bomb disposal experts in Iraq, with Mark Boal taking the gong for Best Original Screenplay, in the film directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
Boal dedicated his award "to the troops, the 115,000 who are still in Iraq, the 120,000 in Afghanistan and the more than 30,000 wounded and 4,000 who have not made it home" and to his father who died a month ago.
James Cameron's "Avatar" has picked up two Oscars so far for Best Art Direction and Cinematography. The Art Direction award went to Rick Carter and Robert Stromberg; for Art Direction and Kim Sinclair for set Decoration while Mauro Fiore won the Oscar for Cinematography
Avatar and The Hurt Locker have nine nominations each at the 2010 Oscars.
